Reef Fish and Dive 1770 – Fishing Equipment – Proudly sponsored by SHIMANO
At Reef Fish and Dive 1770, we are often asked “what type of fishing rods and reels do you use?”.
Another frequent comment from our prospective customers, is that on some of the fishing charters they have been on, the equipment was old, rattly, awkward to use and pretty much cheap rubbish. A fishing charter RFD1770 guarantees you will be using quality Shimano equipment and the right bait and tackle.
Using clean, well maintained and quality equipment can make the difference between a great catch or a disappointing catch and certainly takes away the frustrations these customers have experienced in the past.
Having a reputation for innovation, quality and durability, our brand of choice is Shimano.
The newest addition to our equipment stores are the Shimano Terez Series Fishing Rods and the Shimano Saragosa Fishing Reels 8000SW.
Terez rods are the first ever rod series designed and built to fish Power Pro line. Shimano designed the blanks to be longer and to have a slower taper than traditional Australian blank designs to create power and some shock cushion for braided line usage without compromising and in fact to enhance the performance of the rod when on a fish. With Shimano’s exclusive TC4 technology we have created arguably the lightest and most powerful rod ever built. Using EVA grips and custom Shimano Aluminium reel seats matched with the new Fuji K guide with Alconite rings this rod series is built to perfection.
During testing Shimano’s product team and network of product testers have fished a host of Australian and International locations chalking up species including Yellow fin, Marlin, Kingfish, Sailfish, Amberjack, Spanish Mackerel to name a few. The revolutionary Terez series built on TC4 blanks feature 4 ply graphite will be the inspiration for new styles of fishing and new applications in the next decade.
The Saragosa SW series of saltwater spinning reels from Shimano are a great example of how a good quality reel that includes a whole host of features that are specifically designed for saltwater conditions can be engineered into a neat, compact and attractively priced fish fighting machine.
For example this 8000 size Saragosa SW comes with Shimano’s 5+1 legendary X-Ship bearings and comes with a supported pinion gear & larger drive gear that delivers remarkable cranking power with less effort and a smoother feel. to take things further the Saragosa 8000SW is encased in a hybrid aluminium and XT7 graphite body with an XGT7 rotor.
With a max drag capacity of 12kg, a gear ratio of 5.6:1 and a line capacity of 8kg/210Mtre, you can expect this 8000 size spinning reel to take on your larger saltwater fish species.
